Here's the message I sent to one web site owner:

Subject: CyberRebate.com ad on your site

Very simply, I believe the CyberRebate site (advertised on your site) is a scam.

This business has gotten "very unsatisfactory" ratings from the Better Business Bureau.

Also, NY State authorities have taken legal action against them.

If you examine their business model very carefully, you will see that they cannot make money without at least some customers being badly ripped off. In some ways, their offering resembles a ponzi scheme.

Further, if they were at some point to go out of business (very possible event, even the best of retailers, not to mention dot coms, go out of business) then those HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of customers who purchased but who did not yet receive their rebates would be ripped off very badly. Look at the merchandise/pricing and the terms and then run the numbers.

I also suggest searching the net for info about them (what I have done).

I had been tempted to gamble on grabbing some free goodies. However, after some thought I realized that IF (a BIG IF) I realized the promised windfall, it would come at the expense of some other sucker being ripped off. No thanks.

Oh yes, thank you for your handy site!
