I started my Mary Kay buisness about 7 months ago. I started off strong and then it tapered off. The thing is, I am the reason it tapered off.I have recently decided to make a go of it again with the motivation of a part-time job that I hate. Once I started putting some real effort into it I started seeing real results. The thing is, Mary Kay is not offering a get rich quick scheme. They tell you point blank - You get exactly out of it what you put into it. Those of you who claim you are in debt because of this buisness are very wrong and very foolish. Nobody forced you to go into debt. If you wanted a particular incentive then you should have worked harder to sell product. Although I believe the products sell theselves, they are not going to jump off your shelves waiving signs in the air. It is your responsibility to develop your customer base. This is your buisness. I am tired of reading messages from people who blame the Mary Kay opportunity for ruining their lives. How about taking some accountability for yourself. I am sure that it might be easier to tell your significant other or friends that you failed because someone forced you to invest more than you can handle, but the truth is, it was your decision and you probably are too embarressed to admit that you just didn't try or put any effort into it. This is your buisness and just like any buisness you purchase the inventory that you know you can sell. If you make the wrong decision that is your fault not the suppliers. If some of you have truly had a bad expierience within a unit, I truly feel for you but there are ways to get adopted into units that you may feel more comfotable dealing with. My personal experiences have been very supportive, motivational and uplifting. It was my responsibility to tap into these resources. if you truly want success you have to be willing to work for it. Nobody told me the way up was going to be easy. It takes time, devotion, and determination. If you truly want success you can have it in this buisness. I know that every time I hold a facial my customer bought what she needed not what I needed and that makes me feel good. I beleive that I am offering my customers service that they won't find in a department store and they don't pay department store prices for it. If you want a fullfilling career that you can feel good about then this is the opportunity for you. If you are looking for a get rich scheme or are not willing to work for your rewards, then go back to the want ads.
