You have a "love-hate" relationship too? SO do I! I LOVE the make-up which drawn me to MK and I really admire Mary Kay for giving women the opportunity to be successful and their own boss at something they enjoy. But what i don't like are the PUSHY recruits! I had a directot pressure me to bring 15 people to the next skin care class! 15 PEOPLE?? I don't think so! They are not even interested in make-up! I am the only one in the "circle" that is. After I told her I couldn't find 15 people now she wants me to get 1 person. I told her I would try. But everytime she emails me or calls, she always ask me to bring a person to the skin care class. Excuse Me? My friend knows the hook and line! She would know it's a way to recruit another person to sell Mary Kay or buy it. So that means I would have to plead for her to attend the Skin Care class. Another thing I don't like is the inventory pressure. She tried to get me to spend $600 on inventory. I told her I wanted tro start out slow. SO because I didn't bring a friend or get the $600 in inventory she doesn't call as much and when I was with her, her friendliness faded a bit. Her newsletters even try to get people to spend $3600 in inventory and offers jewelry if they do so. I agree so much with the "No means NO policy". Sometimes no doesn't always mean maybe. It means a flat no. That reminds me of the calling procedure. Her tips say to make sure to get their work number because they HAVE to answer the phone! What!? I don't want to be a pushy sales woman! I am not going to act like a bill collector! Mary Kay IS how you make it! there are ways to make money with out being pushy or buying huge inventory!
