I don't understand why those who fail with their Mary Kay Business feel the need to blame Mary Kay. Mary Kay has been a great business for me. Some weeks I do not make any money, and that is my own fault, because those are the weeks that I do not schedule classes or facials or parties or shows. I would highly reccomend anyone to sell mary kay. Mary Kay has brought me the majority of the $ that I have spent on my upcomming wedding. With out Mk I would not be getting married, and if i did get married my wedding would not be as beautiful and fairy tale like as it will be. Thank You MK.

It's not that the person "failed". These people have been led to believe the BS by greedy consultants! They fell for the trap of buying $$$$ in inventory and was told it would sell but didn't. Did you sell $3600 in inventory in days of your beginnings?

Mandy and Jessica,

Good for you that you can schlep cosmetics. Perhaps I sound like I'm looking down my nose at you. I was tricked into buying an $1,800 inventory, plus hundreds of dollars worth of section 2 crappola. I have two degrees and was working as a substitute teacher. I was getting a regular income, however paltry it seemed to me when I joined the cult of pinkness. My MK director was like, your JOB can be easily replaced by being a consultant and if you buy some inventory than you'll be a success.

However, being about three weeks into the whole MK thing, I just hated what it was turning me into. I never sold anything because I was spending all this initial time and money organizing my business debut. I was sinking a whole lot of money into this venture while warning flags were going off in my head.

Perhaps, I'm just not as adventurous as you gals are or others who have stuck it out. It's just that, after listening the endless blathering from my recruiter, sales director and training cd's I never got my questions answered. It was all very general...to each her own sort of thing.

I don't like being played for a chump and quitting but I need to do what is best for my family. My husband doesn't even need me to work and I just wanted to test the MK waters and see if it was for me and discovered that it wasn't. I don't buy what they say on the training cd's, personal I stories that naturally shy, introverted women became star consultants and directors. I just don't. This business is very personality driven. I've learned that the hard way. Ladies, listen to your husbands. They know you better than these pink freaks ever will. If your husband knows (like mine) that you're shy and introverted don't join a cult of personality like MK. I talked my husband into supporting this whole failed, MK experiment and that is my only regret. I refuse to pad anyone's commission check through the purchase of unnecessary inventory (which I did and now regret).

Good Luck,
