I believe that although the company is seeing record growth in their sales force another FACT has triggered addressing the issues at the Leadership meeting..........RECORD INVENTORY RETURNS AND COMPLAINTS. These type things don't just come out of the blue if things were humming along nicely..
Women sign up want to be taught to sell, but they are taught to recruit instead, so I am glad to hear this news. But, how many will it impact is at large.

Wendy: I have been a Director for 3 years and I heard from other Directors who have been in longer that this has been taught before. How many times do you think it will take to reiterate what this company stands for? ONCE? OR over and over?? There will ALWAYS be new Directors and there have been many new ones who have not heard this, I being one, so this won't be the last time because there will always be new people in that position who need to hear it, it's called training. By the way, how would you know if there were "record returns of inventory"? From what I have heard from many Directors, it is quite opposite. The launch of On the Go Selling has helped as well as the teaching of holding Business Debuts with your New Consultants.
What I saw and heard at Leadership was remarkable. I don't care what a J.O.B. pays for, I had a REALLY good J.O.B. and I adored my boss BUT I was still held back from what I could have or do. Everyone needs a job but not everyone will choose to stay in one forever. Some in MK will do this business part time and never do anymore than that and some will quit their jobs...I support what THEY want and I don't think it's anyone elses business. Laura, I am glad you have found happiness and are packing it up. I can see that is the best option for you. I never even thought of calling unit members and suggesting they return inventory until that NSD mentioned it. I knew it was an option but I always thought it should be up to them and if I mentioned it, I was showing them I don't believe in them anymore. I called a consultant in my Unit, a man, who I believe this would be a good option for. He is now in a relationship and I don't believe this is his "thing" anymore. He did pretty good but now he hasn't done anything and I know he has some products left, but not much. I want to hold a final class for him and then help him or coach him how to send the rest back. It was when I heard this NSD say all she did, that I thought of him. So Laura, it's good for you and I am sure for some other too. It's a big decision but I think you know when it's the right time. Wendy
Hey Wendy, Laura here......
And how would you know there ARE NOT record inventory returns when there are no statistics published.....???????? I understand your loyalty and happiness with the company and that is to be commended, I guess, however, I make my statements from what I observe and that is countless women returning their inventories, directors receiving 'chargebacks' from the return of those inventories and knowing many women who CAN'T return their inventories due to the little detail of losing their consultant ID forever. They like the product and want it at wholesale, so now they are 'stuck' with inventory. If what I see is representative of the whole, whew! I'd be concerned if I were corporate. How many women want to stick with a business that nets a $5,000 profit a year average.....??????
I understand a company reiterating it's mission statement again and again, however, from experience in the business world, some more passionate 'reminders' can be triggered by some sort of unsettling occurences in the company........BUT, we would not know the specific detail of such occurences since they are a 'secret' and not published, so perhaps neither one of us can make a concrete statement about returns since the company does not publish them. But, there are many which support my observations such as the number of women we run into, when we are excited and recruiting as a new consultant, tell us they lost numerous consultants who QUIT???? BTW, there are many MK orphans out there as we are also told.
Facts are, and I can provide you with some MK tapes stating so, but you should have them as they are sent to all new directors, that in MK as well as any other MLM/Networking type business, there is a high turnover rate and women become personal users within a year who start off with big inventories or some inventory and we, as directors, must anticipate those facts and remain active recruiters ourselves to the tune of at least 3 new members a month and each one of those new recruits represents $1,000 in production ..... (That's what we are told, but we're not thinking of production, it's about people as we are told).
You know, this company SHOULD BE remarkable to it's sales force.....they don't provide any benefits until you hit Elite Director status, then you get a paltry life insurance policy...big deal....for the amount of profit you can make from a brush set from MK, you could get a $500,000+ term life insurance policy! (Hey ladies, there's a reason for selling those brush sets!) In my opinion, once a car is 'earned', there should be no maintenance requirements.....only a requalification based on annual sales....but then again, the whole 'sales' concept in MK stinks as it's based on wholesale orders placed and that is all. They can afford it! The prizes come mostly from China and wholesalers and cost little compared to what we have to do to 'earn' them. The company SHOULD treat it's sales people like royalty!
Regarding the cars, 1099's are out and I've heard that the Grand Prix's are pretty pricy! There seems to be some xtra reportable income on the Grand Am's as well....gotta find out what those are about Monday by making some calls......results will be reported!
BTW, I see you wrote that you "don't care what a J.O.B. pays for" yet on your post #80, you are 'rootin for Health Insurance'....what's up with that?
Wendy: I would love health insurance in MK if somehow that would be changed due to new laws. I have many medical issues and my insurance is high risk and hard to find. So it's okey dokey to root for Health Insurance but I would pay twice as much as I pay now for my Health Insurance instead of going back to a J.O.B. My 1099 is in and my Grand Prix is not a concern to me and it's not "pricey". I put my $500/month away into a savings account every month anyways. That's called budgeting and budgeting is part of any business owners business plan. You certainly have alot of hate for this and I know you've spoken of your beliefs before. I think there is a place to put all of this bitterness and HE will show you the silver lining in your situation. You may say you are not bitter but your words say differently. As far as Life Insurance, I get $50,000 Life Insurance from MK and have my own VERY PRICEY life insurance but it's whole life. It's part of my retirement plan. I was pleasantly surprised I had a life insurance with MK at all. Take Care, Wendy
