This ia another one of these mailings where they use phony indicia and other layout characteristics on the envelope to suggest that this is a particularly important piece of mail. In fact, every mark on the envelope except for the meter stamp is designed to give it the appearance of an official mailing. Here's the complete list:

• The return address identifies the sender as "S.F.C." rather than as "Secured Funding Corp.", potentially suggesting to the recipient that it's coming from a government agency.
• A solid black bar similar to those used on mailings from the I.R.S.
• An Express Delivery marking... so it must be important.
• A Dated Material marking (in two different places), so you know you need to act now!
• An Audited Delivery tracking number, so you know they're checking whether you really got this mail.
• A box marked Instructions to Postmaster citing postal regulations about forwarding, so you know this must be meant for your eyes only.

Just in case you haven't fallen for all that flimflam, they do one more thing: they include the name of your mortgage company above the address. Surely you're not going to toss anything related to your mortgage!
