Liquid Loot aka Seven Up aka Dr. Pepper
Summary:
Liquid Loot is a mechanism for allowing consumers of the sponsor's products to bid against each other for premiums. The incentive to sign up is 200 or 250 in bonus points, but these are essentially worthless since you're just bidding against other people who have received the same bonus points.
What terrible awful horrendous things they did:
Liquid Loot has created a completely infuriating system for signing up people and managing their passwords etc.
Even before you sign up, they throw popup windows onto your screen. After signing up, they ask for a password without letting you know that the password will be sent by email.
After using the mechanism to change one's password (which happens to work pretty nicely), they finally get around to processing the original registration and end up overriding the password previously assigned.
Unless you're guzzling way too much of their soda, you don't have much chance of picking up any of their trinkets anyway, but spending all this time trying to get signed into such a useless site is the most irksome part.
